Awards event at FLB Entertainment Center will showcase the top voted businesses for 2025 and reveal Business of the Year
FOLSOM—As the saying goes, the best is yet to come—but in this case, Folsom’s “Best” is about to be celebrated. Folsom Times will host the 2025 Best of Times Awards on Wednesday, Nov. 12, at FLB Entertainment Center, marking a night dedicated to recognizing the local businesses and individuals voted as this year’s community favorites.
The awards follow more three months of public participation, during which residents nominated and voted for their favorite restaurants, shops, professionals, and nonprofits. The top three finishers in each category were revealed last month, and now the spotlight turns to honoring them in person.
The Nov. 12 celebration will bring together business owners, staff, and community members for an evening of recognition, networking, and local pride. Doors open at 5 p.m. at FLB Entertainment Center, located at 511 E. Bidwell Street in Folsom. Check-in for honorees runs until 6 p.m., with the official presentation ceremony beginning at 6:15 p.m. Business owners and residents alike are encouraged to visit www.bestoffolsom.com to view the full list of this year’s winners and plan to attend.
All businesses that earned Best of Times honors—first, second, or third place—are invited to attend and will receive either a deluxe plaque or official certificate. Additional recognition will come from local offices, including representatives from Congress, the California State Assembly, and the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors. In addition to honoring the top three businesses and organizations voted for in 2025, the event will culminate with the revealing of the 2025 Folsom Times Business of the Year, which was determined by the business receiving the most overall votes from the community.
“FLB Entertainment Center is thrilled to be the official host of the Folsom Times Best of Times Awards,” said Dan Dreher. The Dreher family has owned and operated the establishment for nearly 50 years and pride themselves on being involved with the community. “It’s only fitting since we’ve been providing the best in entertainment in Folsom for over 47 years. We’re looking forward to celebrating these amazing business owners and all they’ve done to enhance our community.”
Folsom Times is a digital product of All Town Media LLC that was founded by longtime media and technology professionals Bill Sullivan and Adam Frick in 2023 to provide Folsom with a locally owned and operated community news resource and a platform for local businesses to reach a vast audience. Not long after its launch, Dreher and the duo came together to discuss developing a community-based “Best Of” competition and event.
“Both Adam and myself have known Dan and the Dreher family for many years and worked with them in various ways,” said Sullivan. “Dan was very instrumental in the launch of Folsom Times and came to us in the early stages wanting to get involved with this. We are very excited to partner with them on this celebration and truly appreciate their involvement. An event such as this occupies much of their establishment, and we are grateful for their willingness to host and their hospitality.”
Attendees of the Nov. 12 will have the opportunity to sample appetizers and small plates prepared by local restaurants eager to showcase their creations, as well as a complimentary beverage ticket for those checked in by 6 p.m. The evening will also feature live music by Nashville recording artist Cynthia Renee of Folsom, who herself was voted Best Band in the 2025 community voting.
Members of the public are welcome to attend and cheer for their favorite businesses as Folsom celebrates the people and places that make the community thrive.
Launched earlier this year by Folsom Times, the Best of Times Awards were created to honor the exceptional businesses, services, and individuals that define the region’s unique character—from eateries and boutiques to nonprofits, realtors, and fitness centers. Thousands of nominations poured in during the entry phase, followed by weeks of community voting that determined the winners.
The platform was built entirely in-house by Frick, a software developer with decades of experience, to ensure authenticity and fairness. Unlike contests that permit daily or unlimited voting to drive clicks or advertising revenue, the Best of Times follows a “one person, one vote” approach—making it a true reflection of community sentiment.
