Join the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, August 17 to celebrate National Honey Bee Day! Enjoy a day filled with bee-related fun, including activities, a scavenger hunt, and honey tasting from the Zoo Sanctuary’s very own beehives.
Ruby’s Bookstore, which is located in Historic Folsom, will offer a selection of bee-themed books, and the Zoo Sanctuary’s dedicated docents will host a bee-themed table.
Even the animals will join the celebration with bee-themed enrichment activities. Don’t forget to check out the honey available for purchase in the gift shop! Regular zoo admission fees apply.
Located at 403 Stafford Street, the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary provides a safe haven for dozens of rescued wild and domestic animals. Touring the zoo sanctuary is the perfect way to spend the day and get to know the charming animal residents, including bears, wolf-hybrids, monkeys, birds, raptors, cougars, reptiles, insects, and many more.
Take a stroll on scenic pathways that wind through the zoo sanctuary’s wooded landscape while you learn the history and story of each special animal. Then, take a ride on the Folsom Valley Railway through Folsom City Lions Park.
The zoo sanctuary’s mission is “Teaching Responsible Behavior Toward All Animals.” All animal residents of the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary are treated as individuals by the staff and offered the best environments and loving care for their needs.
