FOLSOM — Families are invited to go a little wild next weekend as the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary hosts a special World Animal Day celebration, bringing animal-themed fun, education, and community together in honor of the creatures who share our planet.
The two-day event takes place October 4 and 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day, offering an array of activities designed to inspire compassion and connection with animals. Guests can look forward to kid-friendly crafts, interactive educational tables, and tasty snacks while learning more about the zoo’s unique residents.
Visitors will also have the chance to meet some of the sanctuary’s animals up close, discovering their stories and the important role the public plays in supporting their care. Zoo staff and volunteers will be on hand to share insights into how simple actions can make a big difference for wildlife both locally and globally.
For longtime zoo supporters, the celebration provides another opportunity to enjoy a beloved community treasure, while first-time guests will find an engaging introduction to the sanctuary’s mission of providing lifelong refuge to animals that cannot return to the wild.
Admission fees apply, with all proceeds directly supporting animal care and enrichment at the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary. More details and ticket information are available at www.folsom.ca.us/zoo.
