A popular place to grab a cup of joe or a bite to eat got a special honor this past week. Folsom’s Big Wave Coffee has been named the 7th District Business of the Month by Assemblyman Josh Hoover this month.
Located at 189 Blue Ravine Road, near the intersection of Folsom-Auburn Road, Blue Wave Coffee is locally owned and operated by Mindy and Cherokee Valeria, who opened the coffee shop in 2022 after purchasing what was previously known as Cooper’s Coffee House.
“Cherokee Valeria was born and raised in Hawaii and truly embodies the spirit of Aloha, which he brings to Big Wave Coffee,” said Hoover. “Mindy and Cherokee’s goal is to pass along Aloha to each and every guest, so they know how much they are loved and appreciated.
Along with offering high quality espresso and teas, Big Wave also offers flavored energy drinks and specialty sodas and food options such as pastries, sandwiches, burritos, and more. The location is open every day from 6:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and is a popular spot for Folsom residents on their way to work, or meeting friends for a cup or a bite to eat.
“Their employees are truly the best you’ll find, with great customer service and always positive vibes.” Added Hoover. “You may even run into me when you swing by, I regularly use Big Wave as my second office. Congratulations Big Wave, we are lucky to have you in the Folsom community.”
Assemblyman Hoover is a longtime resident of Folsom and represents the 7th Assembly District in Sacramento County, which includes the cities of Citrus Heights, Folsom, and Rancho Cordova and the unincorporated communities of Carmichael, Fair Oaks, Foothill Farms, Gold River, Mather, McClellan Park, North Highlands, Orangevale, and Rosemont.
