The Empire Ranch Men’s Golf Club (ERMGC) has crowned Folsom’s Shawn Campbell as the club’s Match Play Champion of 2023. Attracting a field of 128 players, the annual event pits players against one another in a 4-month long competition culminating with one unbeaten player. The final match was held August 24th at Folsom’s Empire Ranch Golf Course between the two finalists, with Campbell prevailing in 19 holes.
ERMGC, one of the biggest golf clubs in California with 748 members, was founded in 2002 when the Empire Ranch Golf Course opened. The club holds tournaments throughout the year, with its match play event being one of its biggest and most popular.
Campbell has been a member of the club since its inception and a Folsom resident since 1998.
