FOLSOM — Bulldog pride swept through Historic Folsom Wednesday night as Folsom High School kicked off its 2025 Homecoming Week with the annual parade and community rally, setting the stage for Friday night’s highly anticipated homecoming football game against Whitney High School.
The parade began just after 6:30 p.m., filling Sutter Street with the sights and sounds of school spirit. Hundreds of families and alumni lined the sidewalks as the Folsom High marching band led a procession of cheerleaders, athletic teams, school clubs, and class floats representing each grade level. The annual event once again served as a reminder of the deep connection between Folsom High and the community that supports it.
Following the parade, the celebration continued at the Zittel Family Amphitheater, where students, parents, and supporters gathered for a high-energy rally featuring performances by school music groups and the Folsom High cheer squad. The event also introduced members of the 2025 Homecoming Court, who were met with cheers from classmates and supporters as the excitement builds toward Friday’s halftime crowning of the Senior Homecoming King and Queen.
The evening concluded with the announcement of this year’s float competition results. The Senior Class of 2025 took first place honors for their creative and detailed design that embodied Bulldog spirit, followed by the Junior Class in second, the Sophomore Class in third, and the Freshman Class rounding out the competition in fourth.

Now, all eyes turn to Prairie City Stadium, where the Folsom Bulldogs (6-1 overall, 3-0 league) will face the Whitney Wildcats (2-5 overall, 0-3 league) in a Sierra Foothill League clash that doubles as one of the most spirited nights of the season. Folsom has continued to build momentum through league play, backed by one of the highest-scoring offenses in Northern California. The Bulldogs are averaging nearly 39 points per game and have outscored league opponents by a wide margin, combining an explosive passing attack with a balanced defensive effort that has limited opponents to an average of just over 23 points per contest.
Whitney enters Friday’s game looking to snap a three-game losing streak, but the Wildcats’ young roster has shown flashes of potential in recent weeks. Their defense will face a major challenge against a Folsom squad that has thrived on quick tempo and strong execution in all phases of the game.
Friday’s homecoming matchup will also be the Bulldogs’ first game at home since their impressive win over Oak Ridge earlier this month. The team is expected to have a full stadium behind them, with students, alumni, and families packing the stands in blue and white to celebrate one of the most anticipated nights of the year.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m., and halftime will feature the crowning of the 2025 Homecoming King and Queen, as well as performances from the marching band and cheer team. Fans attending the game are encouraged to arrive early to secure seating, as homecoming typically draws one of the largest crowds of the season.
Whether on the streets of Historic Folsom or under the lights of Prairie City Stadium, this week’s celebration continues to showcase the enduring pride, tradition, and community that define Bulldog Nation.
