The Oak Parkway Trail has officially reopened to the public following a series of improvements aimed at enhancing safety and protecting the natural environment along the popular route.
City officials say trail users will immediately notice the upgrades, which include resurfaced pathways for better traction, fresh trail markings, and new erosion control measures designed to safeguard the surrounding landscape. The enhancements were part of a broader effort to keep the trail both accessible and environmentally responsible.
Additional work is already in the pipeline for next year, with plans for native landscaping and habitat restoration intended to further enhance the experience for walkers, runners, and cyclists. These efforts will help preserve the area’s natural beauty while promoting sustainability for future generations.
The City of Folsom is encouraging visitors to help keep the Oak Parkway Trail safe and enjoyable by staying on designated paths, reporting maintenance issues promptly, and observing wildlife from a respectful distance.
The Oak Parkway Trail is part of Folsom’s extensive trail network, which spans more than 50 miles and connects neighborhoods, parks, and key community destinations.
