Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band brings decades of hits to Folsom on March 18
FOLSOM — Classic rock fans are in for a major treat: Foreigner, one of the world’s best-selling rock bands, is officially booked to perform with a full rock orchestra at Folsom’s Harris Center for the Arts on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. The announcement fires the starting gun on a fast ticket timeline—Harris Center members get first crack on Wednesday, September 10, at noon, with public on-sale set for Friday, September 12, at noon.
The Harris Center program will add a symphonic punch to Foreigner’s formidable setlist—think “Juke Box Hero,” “Cold as Ice,” “Feels Like the First Time,” “Urgent,” “Head Games,” “Say You Will,” “Dirty White Boy,” “Long, Long Way from Home,” and, of course, “I Want to Know What Love Is”—reimagined with the color and dynamics of a rock orchestra in an intimate hall built for detail and power.
Formed in New York City in 1976, Foreigner is the rare British-American hybrid that became an arena mainstay almost out of the gate. Led since the beginning by English guitarist and songwriter Mick Jones, the band exploded with a self-titled debut in 1977 that spun off radio staples “Feels Like the First Time” and “Cold as Ice,” launching a run of six straight multi-platinum albums and Top 10 chart appearances.
Across the late ’70s and ’80s, Foreigner defined the sound of rock radio with “Hot Blooded,” “Double Vision,” “Dirty White Boy,” and the career-making 4, which spent 10 weeks at No. 1 behind “Urgent,” “Waiting for a Girl Like You,” and “Juke Box Hero.” The band’s global No. 1 power ballad “I Want to Know What Love Is” cemented their crossover reach and remains a generational anthem. All told, Foreigner has sold more than 80 million records worldwide, with U.S. sales topping 38 million, and their catalog still tallies more than 15 million weekly streams.
While the lineup has evolved from its original configuration of Lou Gramm, Jones, Dennis Elliott, Al Greenwood, Ian McDonald, and Ed Gagliardi, the modern touring unit continues to deliver the muscular, melody-rich sound that filled basketball arenas and hockey barns during the band’s heyday. Today’s Foreigner features Jones alongside longtime bassist Jeff Pilson and a veteran cast of players who have kept the live show tight and high-energy as the group marks nearly five decades on the road. In 2024, Foreigner’s legacy was formally enshrined with induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, a nod to their enduring impact on rock, soft rock, and arena rock alike.
Key dates for tickets: Harris Center member pre-sale opens Wednesday, September 10, at 12:00 noon; public on-sale begins Friday, September 12, at 12:00 noon. For details on membership and tickets, visit harriscenter.net.
