ROSEVILLE — Multiple agencies in Roseville responded to a residential structure fire in the Sierra Vista neighborhood Sunday just before at 11:00 a.m. where a home suffered and four dogs succumbed to injuries, despite being rescued by firefighters.
Upon arrival within four minutes of being dispatched. firefighters discovered a working fire in a one-story residence. An aggressive attack was initiated to knock down the active flames as firefighters made entry into the dwelling.
According to the Roseville Fire Department, the occupants were not home at the time of the incident. Firefighters successfully evacuated five dogs and one snake from the premises. Despite their efforts, only one dog survived. Firefighters provided immediate aid to the animals, with two of the dogs receiving transportation to a local veterinarian hospital by City of Roseville, California Police Department animal control
The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time. In addition to Roseville Fire, several other agencies responded to the scene including American Medical Response – Sacramento Valley EMS, City of Roseville Utilities (Roseville Electric), and Pacific Gas and Electric Company.
