Summer Palooza celebrates family fun with carnival, entertainment, parade and more this Friday through Sunday
The scent of kettle corn, the hum of carnival rides, and the sound of laughter drifting through the oaks—summer in Orangevale is about to hit full swing. The 2025 Orangevale Summer Palooza is back this weekend, transforming the heart of town into a lively hub of celebration from Friday through Sunday, June 6–8.
The long-running festival promises a full weekend of family fun, live entertainment, and community pride, all while continuing a legacy that spans more than 60 years.
First held in 1963, the event has evolved over the decades under names like Fiesta Days, Pow Wow Days, and the Orangevale Town Fair. Now known as Summer Palooza, the event has held tight to its original purpose: to bring the community together in a joyful celebration of local culture, heritage, and togetherness. With roots deep in Orangevale tradition, it remains one of the area’s most anticipated and attended community events.
Spanning much of the 36-acre Orangevale Community Park, located at 7145 Filbert Avenue between Oak and Elm avenues near Green Oaks Elementary, Summer Palooza is packed with entertainment and attractions. The weekend is filled with activities for all ages. Families can enjoy a full-scale carnival with rides provided by Butler Amusements, games, local food vendors, and live musical entertainment on the event’s main stage throughout each day.
Young racers will be thrilled by the return of the Kids Power Wheel Derby for children ages 4 to 9. For adults, there’s a wine tasting and mocktail garden offering local flavor in a relaxed setting. On Sunday, the Grange Expo Still Exhibit adds a creative community showcase to the mix.

A centerpiece of the weekend is the return of the Red, White & Blue Parade on Saturday morning. The patriotic procession kicks off at 9:00 a.m. and travels along Greenback Lane. This year, Sacramento County Supervisor and Folsom resident Rosario Rodriguez will serve as the grand marshal, honored for her public service and deep ties to the Orangevale and Folsom communities.
To accommodate the parade, several road closures will be in effect on Saturday, June 7. Main Avenue will be closed between Greenback and Madison from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. for parade staging. Greenback Lane will be fully closed between Main Avenue and Filbert Avenue from 8:00 to 10:30 a.m. for the parade procession. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and expect delays in the area during those hours.
Carnival rides will run Friday from 4 to 10 p.m., Saturday from 2 to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. Unlimited ride wristbands are valid only on the day they are redeemed and can be purchased online or at the carnival booths inside the park. Purchasing a wristband also supports local youth programs and non-profits.
Festival hours are Friday from 4 to 10 p.m., Saturday from 2 to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. Admission is free for children ages 0–5, $3 for kids ages 6–17 and seniors 60 and older, and $4 for adults 18 and up. Parking is $7 for most vehicles and $11 for oversized vehicles. Carnival rides and select attractions are a separate cost.
In past years, regardless of what it was called, Orangevale Summer Palooza has drawn nearly 10,000 attendees, and the 2025 edition is expected to continue that trend. It remains a vibrant celebration of small-town values, civic pride, and summer excitement that unites generations of Orangevale residents.
