A long rivalry continues tonight under the lights at Sacramento City College’s Hughes Stadium. It’s the Folsom Bulldogs versus the Oak Ridge Trojans in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division I championship. Whoever comes out of what is expected to be a slugfest of a game not only takes the section title, they go on for a chance a state title.

The Folsom High Bulldogs enter the game as the top seed in the bracket at 10-2 overall and 5-0 in the Sierra Foothill League (SFL). The Oak Ridge Trojans are now No. 3, with a record of 10-2 overall and 3-2 in the SFL.

Tonight, you can put all the stats and rankings aside as both teams will be giving it everything they have in what is a rematch of last year’s finals. While Folsom looks to carry on its 20-game win streak over its local rival, the Trojans will have other ideas as they look to tilt the historical stats and come out on top.

Last week, Folsom won its second playoff game of the season as they pushed ahead of Inderkum in a game that was wet and wild and didn’t look good for the Bulldogs at times.  In the third quarter, the dogs trailed 19-14 before turning up the heat in the fourth quarter and eventually walking off the field with a 36-19 win.

For Oak Ridge, last week took them on a long road trip to Central Catholic where they played on a natural field in cold, wet conditions as well. The Trojans started off the game trailing the Raiders but quickly changed that when they scored on their first possession and eventually sealed their match up with Folsom for the section title with a 31-14 victory on the road.

In last year’s match up, Folsom defeated Oak Ridge 23-13 to secure the title. In their most recent match up, Folsom defeated Oak Ridge in the first league play game of the season 42-21.

Tonight’s game will kick off at 7 p.m.  Those wishing to attend the game can purchase tickets online HERE.
