The Friday night lights are set to ignite once again as both of Folsom’s teams continue to remain undefeated in each of their respective leagues, one of which is just one win away from a team season record as the Vista del Lago Eagles are having a banner season right alongside their 95630 neighbors the Folsom Bulldogs.
Scoring that team record won’t come tonight, however, as the Eagles have the night off on a bye week. The break comes just one week after they handed previously undefeated Rio Americano its first loss of the season in a 41-15 game last Friday.
Vista will face Christian Brothers High School on the road next Friday night for its final game of the regular season.
The Folsom Bulldogs will be in action tonight as they take on the Del Oro Golden Eagles. Folsom faces their northern rivals with a 3-0 record in Sierra Foothill League competition and are 6-2 overall in the season. Del Oro is 0-3 when it comes to league competition so far. Last week the Bulldogs defeated Whitney High 63-19. After Friday’s game, the dogs will wrap up their regular season hosting Granite Bay next week.
Granite Bay will face the Rocklin Thunder tonight at home. The Grizzlies are 2-1 in league and 5-3 overall on the season after falling to Oak Ridge last week 25-14. Oak Ridge is 2-1 in league ply and 7-1 overall. The Trojans travel to Whitney tonight.
Just down the road, Cordova will be hitting the road as well. Tonight the Lancers will travel to Natomas which is 3-5 overall and 2-1 in league play.
Cordova is 2-1 in league competition and 3-5 overall. They have won their last two games, defeating Florin last week on the road 49-7. The Lancers will wrap up their regular season next week when they face Hiram Johnson.
While many of you may hit the road to your game of choice tonight, we know there are many that can’t make it or will want to know what’s happening at other games in the region.
