Learning is moving outside later this month at one Folsom school. The Goddard School of Folsom is set to unveil a major addition to its early childhood education program this month with the opening of its new Outdoor Classroom. Designed to inspire hands-on learning and a deeper connection to nature, the innovative space will officially open at the end of April.
Serving infants through Pre-K students, The Goddard School of Folsom is known for its play-based approach to learning. With its latest addition, the school aims to further enrich that experience by integrating sensory exploration, STEAM learning, and imaginative play into an outdoor environment.
“We are so excited to offer this enriching new space to our students,” Kaylee Agaman, owner of The Goddard School of Folsom shared with Folsom Times. “Learning outdoors fosters curiosity, creativity, and collaboration—allowing children to build confidence and engage with the world around them in new ways.”

The Outdoor Classroom will include unique features such as a giant chess board, engineering stations, a mud kitchen with dramatic play elements, an outdoor stage, music zones, a technology area, and a large student-run garden. In addition, STEM exploration stations and art and sensory activity areas will help nurture a wide range of developmental skills.
Educational research continues to support the benefits of outdoor learning in early childhood, showing improvements in cognitive development, problem-solving skills, focus, and emotional well-being. The new classroom reflects The Goddard School’s ongoing commitment to innovation and student success.
To celebrate the launch, the school will host a community-wide grand opening event in May. Families will be invited to experience the space, participate in interactive demonstrations, and enjoy various activities that highlight the many ways outdoor learning can enhance a child’s educational journey.
The Goddard School of Folsom will also offer a dynamic Summer Camp program from June 2 through August 8, 2025. For more details about the Outdoor Classroom or the upcoming community celebration, parents and community members can call or text 916-936-0377.
