Students from Golden Hills School in El Dorado Hills took home a podium position in the recent Sacramento Regional Science Olympiad Competition. The Middle School Science Olympians placed 3rd out of 12 different teams and advanced to the state finals.
A science Olympiad is an academic competition that tests students in various subjects related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). It typically involves teams of students from different schools competing against each other in a variety of events that are designed to challenge their knowledge, skills, and creativity.
The events can include anything from building and launching a rocket to solving complex math problems to conducting experiments in a laboratory setting.
The ultimate goal of a science Olympiad is to promote STEM education and inspire young people to pursue careers in science and technology-related fields. Science Olympiad has evolved into one of the top science competitions in the United States, allowing thousands of students from nearly 6,500+ teams in 50 states to challenge themselves and achieve their maximum potential.
Congrats! Go Hawks!
