FOLSOM — The Folsom Cordova Unified School District has announced that graduation ceremonies for its three comprehensive high schools will continue to be held on their respective campuses moving forward, following strong feedback from students, parents, and staff.
At the conclusion of the 2024–2025 school year, district officials began exploring the possibility of moving graduation ceremonies to the Golden 1 Center in downtown Sacramento, citing challenges with limited on-campus parking and seating that restrict the number of family members who can attend in person. The idea followed similar moves by other districts and universities such as Sacramento State and UC Davis, which have transitioned their commencement ceremonies to larger venues.
In response, FCUSD conducted a community survey to gather input from families, students, and employees. After reviewing the responses, district leaders decided to keep graduation ceremonies at their traditional on-campus locations.
The district expressed appreciation for the thoughtful feedback received throughout the process and confirmed that all three high schools will continue to hold their ceremonies at 7 p.m. next spring. Graduation for Folsom High School will take place on Thursday, May 28, 2026, while both Cordova High School and Vista del Lago High School will celebrate their graduates the following evening, Friday, May 29, 2026.
To help accommodate families who are unable to attend in person due to limited seating, Folsom Times and Folsom TVwill continue their partnership with the district to livestream all three graduation ceremonies.
