In the Pee Wee division, the Vista Jr. Eagles struggled against a strong Granite Bay Grizzlies team, falling 44-6. Vista received the ball first, but Granite Bay scored early and added two points with a successful kick. Vista mounted a long drive but turned the ball over after four downs, allowing the Grizzlies to score twice more before halftime, leading 22-0.
The third quarter saw Granite Bay score two more touchdowns. Despite several minor injuries, Vista’s determination paid off when Christopher Mitchell scored on a kickoff return. However, Granite Bay added another touchdown before the game ended, securing a commanding win.
Junior Midgets: Granite Bay 14, Vista 0
The Junior Eagles faced a tough opponent in the Granite Bay Grizzlies, losing 14-0. Granite Bay opened the game with a kickoff return for a touchdown and converted the extra point, quickly going up 8-0. Despite strong efforts from Vista’s Sa-Francis and Molnar, the Eagles turned the ball over on downs. Granite Bay capitalized with another touchdown, though their extra point attempt failed, bringing the score to 14-0.
The Eagles showed resilience, with key defensive plays from McNeel-Caird, Calapp, and Nudelman, but couldn’t break through Granite Bay’s defense. Despite multiple penalties against the Grizzlies, Vista struggled to gain momentum, and the game ended with Granite Bay taking a knee to seal their 14-0 victory.
