FOLSOM — The energy will be high and the costumes wild as Powerhouse Pub in Historic Folsom rolls out a full weekend of entertainment packed with live music, Halloween parties, throwback hits, and a dose of blues to close it out. The weekend kicks off Friday, October 24, with an early show by Granite City 909, a band that pays tribute to the golden age of rock and draws on decades of musical experience and deep local roots.

Granite City 909 takes the stage at 6:30 p.m. and brings a name that honors both Folsom’s history and its musical spirit—named after the city’s original “Granite City” moniker and the elementary school at 909 that shaped the band members’ youth. The group’s lineup features guitarist Jay Freeman, a Houston native who toured extensively in the early ’70s alongside ZZ Top and Ted Nugent before taking the corporate world by storm and later representing Wells Fargo in the Fortune Magazine Battle of the Corporate Bands. He’s joined by Southern California native Steve Miklos, a longtime Folsom City Councilmember and former mayor who carries a vibrant 1970s rock energy influenced by family ties to the Las Vegas show scene.

Drummer Dave Bunker, a Folsom resident and U.S. Army veteran, has been performing since the age of 10 and has played with multiple local bands across California. Together, this seasoned lineup captures the essence of 1970s rock and keeps it alive for a new generation.

Later Friday night at 10:00 p.m., the Ariel Marin Band takes over with a soulful, genre-spanning performance led by Ariel Marin, a Bay Area native known for her angelic four-octave voice and dynamic stage presence. Backed by platinum producer and music director James “Jae E” Earley, the award-winning group performs everything from Fleetwood Mac to Motown to current Top 40 hits. Marin’s original music, including selections from her upcoming album “Peculiar People,” brings together influences of folk, gospel, rock, pop, and R&B in a powerful fusion of sound.

Growing up surrounded by legendary musicians such as the Dinosaurs, Tony Saunders, Arlo Guthrie, and members of the Grateful Dead, Marin blends that legacy with her own expressive vision, creating a performance that’s as heartfelt as it is energizing.

On Saturday, October 25, the festivities get an early start at 3:00 p.m. with a special Halloween afternoon dance party featuring Petty Jack Flash and Mere Mortals. Guests are encouraged to come dressed in costume and join the community potluck and costume contest while enjoying live music that pays homage to rock legends with flair and fun. That evening, Powerhouse transforms into the ultimate Singles Night with a Halloween twist starting at 7:00 p.m., setting the mood for festive connections and a vibrant social scene across the pub’s expansive multi-venue space.
