A familiar face that has been a longtime member of the Folsom Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is now taking helm. Effective April 1, Steve Heard will take the position of Board Chair.
“Mr. Heard brings a wealth of experience in business management, entrepreneurship, and community engagement to his new role,” reads a statement from Chamber Vice President of Marketing and Communications Jennifer Cliff. “He has been an active member of the Folsom Chamber of Commerce for over a decade, serving on several committees and as Vice Chair for the past two years.”
As Board Chair, Heard will lead the Chamber’s efforts to promote economic growth and support local businesses. He will work closely with the Chamber’s staff and volunteer committees to provide insight and guidance on our many programs and services that address the needs of our diverse membership.
“I am honored to take on this role at such an exciting and challenging time for our community. Although this significance of being the first African American to lead the Board is not lost on me, I’m just another one of thousands who love this community and want to preserve all that makes it a great place to live, while embracing the future and making it better”.
Mr. Heard takes over as Board Chair from Dr. Shaina DiMariano, who served in the role for the past year. During her tenure, the Chamber launched several new initiatives to support the local business community, including a new membership model.
