ORANGEVALE — Valentine’s weekend at The Boardwalk will lean fully into neon nostalgia as Class of 85 brings its tribute to 1980s New Wave to the stage Saturday night, pairing romance with rhythm in a festive retro celebration.
The Sacramento-area band delivers the spirit of the ’80s New Wave era with a Valentine’s Day twist, blending swoon-worthy ballads and dance-floor favorites into one cohesive live experience. Drawing from the catalog of artists such as Duran Duran, The Cure, INXS and The Smiths, Class of 85 recreates the textures, melodies and mood that defined a decade of iconic radio moments.
Known for its energetic stage presence and crowd engagement, the band builds performances around singalong choruses and familiar hooks, creating a setting designed for both couples planning a night out and groups of friends gathering for a themed evening. From shimmering guitar tones to synth-driven rhythms, the show promises a soundtrack that balances romance, nostalgia and high-energy movement.
Class of 85 regularly appears at festivals, concerts and special events throughout the Sacramento region and is known for embracing audience interaction, often tailoring elements of the set to suit the occasion. Saturday’s show marks a Valentine’s celebration framed by timeless ’80s vibes and dance-ready favorites.

The weekend continues Sunday morning with Music Video Bingo and Bottomless Mimosa Brunch.
