With the Fourth of July approaching, we at Choose Folsom are gearing up for another memorable year at the Folsom Pro Rodeo. The event, coming up July 1-3, 2023, is known as a family-friendly way to celebrate Independence Day and offers opportunities not just for fun but also for business, whether it’s networking, new business development, or challenging your limits.
Here are three reasons why I look forward to the event every year.
Community
The Folsom Pro Rodeo is a community event, first and foremost. Its storied history goes back over 60 years, bringing patriotic family fun to the Greater Sacramento region. Its reputation for quality family entertainment makes it an annual tradition beyond Folsom’s city limits.
We support the regional popularity by working with SacRT to offer free light rail and shuttle rides to the Rodeo with a valid Folsom Pro Rodeo admission ticket.
As the saying goes, the more, the merrier. And if we can make it easier for our friends to join us, all the better.
Networking
Whether you come to our pre-Rodeo Business Mixer or use the event to connect with local entrepreneurs and companies, the Rodeo is a fun backdrop for serious – and not-so-serious – conversations.
And, of course, our ever-popular Saloon Under the Stars is a spacious venue with room for chatting and dancing as the live music heats up. And there are plenty of libations to choose from, as the Saloon offers a full bar.
This year’s new Ride Into the Music Festival on June 30 features a terrific lineup of performances, including Chris Lane, Tyler Rich, Canaan Smith, and Moonshine Crazy. While a concert may not seem like a traditional networking spot, you’d be surprised what a gorgeous summer evening setting can do to inspire you.
Innovation + Entrepreneurship
Western heritage is in Folsom’s DNA. And with it, a certain can-do attitude, whether you call it an entrepreneurial spirit or, in modern parlance, innovation.
You’ve likely heard me say this before – we’re home to several firsts, including the railroad and the Folsom Powerhouse. Those developments were largely thanks to the grit and determination required by those who came before us.
I’d like to think we continue that with the imaginative performances offered at the Rodeo. From the high-flying motocross antics of the aptly named Flying Cowboys to the skilled horses of the Painted Ladies, the Folsom Pro Rodeo features inspiring acts that may encourage you to challenge your own limits and creativity!
Please join us at this year’s event, which will be held July 1, 2, and 3 at the Dan Russell Rodeo Arena. See FolsomProRodeo.com for details, tickets, and more.
