The Saturday morning Farmer’s Markets in Folsom have long been a huge success, drawing hundreds to Folsom’s Historic District each Saturday morning. Now, all those local market lovers have another option to stock up on good eats with a second market coming to Historic Folsom each week.
Promoted by Living Smart Farmers Markets, the same organization behind the Historic Folsom plaza market and the new Palladio venue, Historic Folsom’s second market will take place on Sunday mornings on the 700 block of Sutter Street.
With the strong demand for healthy, locally grown foods and products in Folsom, market promoters and Historic District officials feel there is plenty of demand for the second offering. It will take place from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. starting this Sunday, Apr. 30 and will be positioned on the 700 block on Sutter Street, which is already closed to traffic on weekends to promote tourism, shopping and dining.
“This will bring some great visitors to our district on Sunday mornings, and it makes sense to utilize the street closure to accommodate it,” said Judy Collinsworth, Executive Director of the Folsom Historic District. “The Saturday market has been so good for this district and the merchants. We are excited to be adding a second one.”
