The City of Folsom is about to get a whole lot healthier—and I am proud that my company, LRE & Companies, in partnership with American Hospitality Services, Inc., has played an important role in making it happen.

With last month’s announcement of a new medical provider opening a facility in Folsom, Mayor Mike Kozlowski declared the city a growing “healthcare hub”—with the article citing my company’s project that will also bring two large medical facilities of UC Davis and Dignity Health to a burgeoning 3,585-acre master planned development.

Since mid-year 2019, we have been working hard on the construction of the much-anticipated development of Southpointe at Folsom Ranch, which will also feature a veterinary clinic that will address the medical needs of our furry and feathered family members. In addition, Southpointe will include 72,000 square feet of rentable space for medical offices, a Circle K gas station and two drive-thru retail pads & 14,000 square feet of lifestyle retail. It will provide plenty of new amenities to a community that in recent years has transformed into the destination spot for software companies in the Sacramento region.

In January, Samsung announced that it will be building a new Folsom facility for its semiconductor company. Micron Technology Inc. and Intel Corp, also semiconductor companies, were already well established in the community.

The business-friendly city is home to 85,789 people, an increase of 6.24% or 5,040 residents since the official U.S. Census total of 80,749, according to World Population Review. Between 2010 and 2020, Folsom grew by 11% from 72,203 people. The median household income stands at $119,824.

It’s easy to see why people have been flocking to the Sacramento County city. Urban amenities include fine dining, shopping and arts and entertainment. Must-do activities include visiting the Folsom Powerhouse State Historic Park, Folsom Historical Museum, Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary and Seaquest Folsom, as well as watching shows at the Sutter Street Theatre and the Harris Center.

Outdoor lovers also have plenty of choices – from water sports at Lake Natoma to bike rides along the American River to hiking, horseback riding and water activities at Folsom Lake State Recreation Area.

Our participation at Southpointe was by design. For more than 20 years, LRE & Companies prioritized learning about different communities, what makes them unique, and – with input from residents and businesses – find where the voids and white spaces are in the community. LRE & Companies then sets out to bring the right brands to those markets.

In the case of Southpointe, residents can follow up their medical appointments for themselves or their pets with a quick bite and drink, and fill up their gas tanks before their short drive home.

Folsom will continue to redefine itself, and its needs will evolve organically. We at LRE & Companies hope to address those needs with more state-of-the art developments like Southpointe at Folsom Ranch. We look forward to growing and thriving alongside Folsom.
