Momentum is building for Lakeside Church’s Summer Blitz camp for kids. With 500 sign-ups just within the first 24 hours of launching registration, the church is anticipating its biggest turnout yet for the popular camp—a fixture of summer for the community since 2005.

“Summer Blitz is more than an incredible kids camp—it’s a community event bringing together hundreds of middle-school helpers as well as high-school and adult volunteers for a week that blesses them and the kids,” said Jen Jarvis, Lakeside’s children’s ministry pastor. “There is a tremendous amount of prayer, love, and planning that goes into making Summer Blitz a safe,  impactful, and fun experience for each and every person on our campus that week, and I’m so grateful for the resources we have to bring this camp to our families and community.”

Lakeside’s twenty-eight acre campus—at the corner of East Bidwell and Oak Avenue Parkway—will be home to giant, inflatable water slides and obstacles courses as well as creative arts and crafts stations during the four days of Summer Blitz. Campers will also be engaged through entertaining skits and high-energy singing and dancing, with lots of time for being silly, making friends, and learning about God.

This year’s camp theme will focus on the kingdom of God and how we are all invited into this kingdom through faith in Jesus.

“Summer Blitz is a beautiful illustration of a multi-generational church coming together with one shared purpose—to love kids and lead them to know the hope found in Jesus,” Jarvis said. “With hundreds of eager campers and also hundreds of volunteers of all ages showering each child with attention and love, it’s going to be a wonderful week of playing together and experiencing Jesus together, and we are excited to welcome the community.”

Summer Blitz, available for incoming TK–fifth graders, is a great way to kick off summer and will take place June 3–6 from 9:00 a.m.–12:45 p.m. Early-bird registration, priced at $115, is available until May 5. Registration includes an option to request that friends be grouped together. Scholarships are available for those in need. Volunteer registration is also open for middle schoolers, high schoolers, and adults, with age-appropriate training and reference and background checks in place.
