The sweet scent of lavender will fill the air once again at the historic Murer House & Gardens as the annual Lavender Day celebration returns on Saturday, June 7, 2025. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., this free event invites the community to enjoy a colorful and fragrant day celebrating all things lavender.
Hosted at the picturesque Murer House property, located at 1125 Joe Murer Court, the event is sponsored by Green Acres Nursery & Supply and features an engaging lineup of guest speakers and hands-on experiences. Greg Gayton of Green Acres and Christine Eschen of Tres Jolie Lavender Farm in Grass Valley will lead a special presentation on growing and using lavender, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Earlier in the day, at 10:00 a.m., beekeepers Roger Steel and Tim Dick will share their knowledge about bees and their vital role in pollination.
Adding a flavorful twist to this year’s festivities, the Murer House culinary instructors will return with their popular “Cooking with Lavender” segment, offering live demonstrations and lavender-infused samples. Lavender lemonade and a variety of gift items will also be available for purchase, and guests can enter a drawing to win lavender-themed plants and gifts.
In addition to the featured presentations, visitors are invited to tour the historic Murer House and museum, which dates back to 1925. The Italian-style home was built by Giuseppe Murer, an Italian immigrant who purchased the site in 1921. Today, the home and gardens stand as a living tribute to Folsom’s cultural history and horticultural heritage.
Whether you’re a gardening enthusiast, a fan of essential oils, or simply looking for a relaxing day outdoors, Lavender Day at the Murer House offers something for everyone.
