Five bands perform over three days just before Mardi Gras week arrives

It’s a mix of rock, pop, dance and the blues in the weekend to come in Historic Folsom as four bands will takeover the stage in three days at Powerhouse Pub. The varied line up offers something for everyone and its just the beginning as the local music venue prepares for an even bigger calendar next week to celebrate Mardi Gras.

It all starts this weekend on Friday with  Led Balloon brining their classic Led Zeppelin Tribute to the stage which kicks things off with an early show at 7:00 PM, delivering a powerful tribute to one of rock’s most legendary bands.

Later that night, Powerplay takes over at 10:00 PM with an electrifying dance party. Known for their dynamic vocals and ability to cover everything from Lady Gaga to Johnny Cash and Eminem, Powerplay will keep the party going late into the night.

On Saturday, Feb. 22 Roni & The Flight starts the fun early with a 3:00 PM afternoon dance party. This Sacramento-based classic rock band plays all your favorite hits, ensuring a lively atmosphere and a packed dance floor. Later in the evening, 2Bad – Michael Jackson Tribute will take the stage at 10:00 PM. This high-energy performance will showcase the King of Pop’s most iconic songs, including “Billie Jean,” “Smooth Criminal,” and “Rock With You.” Complete with exciting choreography and a talented group of musicians, this show is a must-see for Michael Jackson fans. Adam Aldama and The Aces will also be featured, adding to the night’s infectious energy with their dynamic dance band set.

On Sunday, Feb. 23, the Powerhouse of Blues featuring Shana Morrison wraps up the weekend with a 3:00 PM performance. The daughter of legendary musician Van Morrison, Shana brings a unique mix of pop, blues, rock, country, R&B, and jazz.

With a voice that captivates audiences and a stage presence honed from years of performing, Morrison’s set will feature a variety of hits, including some of her father’s most beloved songs. Her experience performing alongside the likes of Bonnie Raitt and John Lee Hooker ensures a show full of musical depth and soul.

Even more at Powerhouse for Mardi Gras week

This weekend is just the beginning for Powerhouse, next week, get ready for a vibrant and music-filled Mardi Gras celebration at Powerhouse Pub in Historic Folsom, where a packed lineup of live performances will keep the party going from  the following Thursday through Sunday.

The festivities kick off on Thursday, Feb. 27, with Adam Aldama & The Aces, known for their high-energy covers and themed tributes that span genres from pop to R&B. The night will be filled with crowd-pleasing hits, making it the perfect way to start the weekend.

Friday, Feb. 28, offers a double dose of live music. Rock Monsterz takes the stage with their powerhouse covers of rock anthems from the ’70s, ’80s, and beyond. Later in the evening, Warp Tour Live will bring a nostalgic blend of pop-punk and alternative favorites, channeling the energy of the iconic Warped Tour era.

Saturday, March 1, promises a full day of entertainment. G-Ride, known for their funky, dance-floor-filling performances, kicks things off with a lively set. Later that night, The Spazmatics, the ultimate ’80s tribute band, will have the crowd dancing and singing along to classic hits from the decade of neon and big hair.

The celebration wraps up on Sunday, March 2, with a special performance by acclaimed violinist and bandleader Tom Rigney, whose energetic Cajun and zydeco rhythms will bring a true New Orleans flair to the finale of Mardi Gras weekend.

Guests are encouraged to embrace the Mardi Gras spirit by wearing beads, tiaras, crowns, feathers, and capes. Drink specials will be available throughout the event.
