SOMERSET- Localized evacuations are reportedly underway in southern El Dorado County as Firefighters from multiple agencies are working to stop the forward movement of a wild land fire near the community of Somerset.

The fire was originally reported at 2:00 p.m. near the 6900 block or FairPlay Road. Early reports state the fire is approximately five acres in size. The incident is being referred to as the RonTree fire.

Incident command is reporting a spot fires has been reported ahead of the main fire that is threatening structures, prompting the request for additional air attack and localized evacuation measures according to Watch Duty.

Update 2:31 p.m: An additional 10 engines from multiple agencies are being requested to respond to the incident.

2:36 p.m.: Rontree Fire is now estimated to be 10 acres in size with moderate spread and 0% containment, according to CalFire.

3:15 p.m. Per CalFire, Fire is holding between 5-10 acres, and within its lines. Copters are expected to be released shortly.

3:23 p.m. Air traffic reports the main fire has been mapped at five acres, with the second spot fire mapped at three acres.

3:42 p.m. Fire is reported as now being 10% contained. Evacuations remain in place for Leap Frog Lane in Somerset. Starting to release aircraft.

4:50 p.m. Fire is reportedly 30 percent contained. Air craft has been released. Some evacuations remain in place along Leapfrog Lane.

6:20 p.m. -Evacuation orders have been lifted. Some roadways remain closed in the fire area as crews will be on scene overnight continuing to fully extinguish the hotspots.

7:30 p.m. Fire nowmapped at 13.75 acres and is 50% contained. Forward progress remains stopped. Heavy mop up continues and crews will be working throughout the night.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
