Partnership brings on-site medical care to the resort as it opens its 79th season

Marshall has been named the official medical provider for the ski clinic at Sierra-at-Tahoe, expanding on-mountain medical access as the resort opens for its 79th season, according to a press release issued Monday.

The Marshall Ski Clinic will be located within the Sierra-at-Tahoe resort and will provide on-site care for skiers and riders throughout the winter season. Clinic hours are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Fridays and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

“The Marshall Ski Clinic at Sierra-at-Tahoe represents an exciting expansion of our commitment to the health and well-being of our region’s active population,” said Martin Entwistle, M.B., Ch.B., FRCSEd, chief of medical affairs, in the release. “Staffed by our well-trained and experienced professionals, the clinic team looks forward to caring for resort guests and getting them the care they need to return to the slopes as quickly and as safely as possible, supported by Marshall’s world-class sports injury specialists and our state-of-the-art physical therapy facilities.”

Marshall, an independent, full-service healthcare system with more than six decades of service in El Dorado County, operates Marshall Hospital in Placerville as well as clinics in Cameron Park, Georgetown and Placerville. The system recently opened a new 25,000-square-foot medical facility in El Dorado Hills designed to further support sports medicine and orthopedic care.

That El Dorado Hills facility, located just off Highway 50, includes the Center for Sports Rehabilitation and Active Living, featuring sports medicine, orthopedics and physical therapy, positioned adjacent to Marshall’s walk-in orthopedic clinic, according to the release.

Sierra-at-Tahoe, one of the closest major ski areas to Sacramento and the Bay Area, spans 2,000 acres with 50 trails and more than 2,200 vertical feet of skiable terrain. The resort offers terrain suited for beginners through expert skiers and riders, along with multiple terrain parks and lift access located just steps from parking areas.

Officials said the collaboration between Marshall and Sierra-at-Tahoe is intended to enhance guest safety while increasing access to healthcare for visitors enjoying the region’s active, outdoor lifestyle.
