Coming off the heels of their theatrical performance at the Harris Center last night, Folsom Lake College’s Dance Department is taking A Midsummer Night’s Dream outdoors this evening for a free, open-air performance at the Zittel Family Amphitheater in Historic Folsom.

This special community event—A Midsummer Night’s Dream In Concert—kicks off at 6:00 p.m. and brings Shakespeare’s classic tale to life in an exciting new format. Blending high-energy choreography, music, and modern musical selections, the performance features well-loved songs from artists such as David Bowie, Merle Haggard, Kelly Clarkson, and Mumford & Sons. It’s a perfect mix of old-world storytelling and contemporary flair, designed to enchant audiences of all ages.

Audiences can expect to see the same beloved characters—Puck, Titania, Oberon, and their human counterparts—dancing, singing, and casting spells across the stage as they share this timeless story of love, confusion, and transformation under the stars.

Attendees are encouraged to bring low-backed chairs, blankets, and settle in for a night of laughter, music, and midsummer mischief. The performance includes a brief intermission and runs under two hours, making it ideal for families and casual weekend visitors. The Zittel Family Amphitheater is located at 200 Wool Street in Historic Folsom.

This event is free to the public and part of Folsom Lake College’s ongoing commitment to sharing the arts with the broader community. It offers a chance for those who missed the full theatrical production to still experience the heart of this imaginative and colorful adaptation.
