Powerhouse hits 25 years of entertaining in Folsom

With such a variety of acts spanning country, pop, blues, and funk, Powerhouse Pub promises a a great weekend of live music but it doesn’t stop there. On Tuesday, Oct. 1 Powerhouse will welcome Choose Folsom onto its LED dancefloor where it will host a ribbon cutting to celebrate the venue’s 25th Anniversary.

Prior to becoming one of the region’s most popular live music venue’s, the location that is now Powerhouse has been a livery stable, car dealership and many other things lost to history over the last century and a half. But for the last 50 years this address has been home to a continuing stream of live music, and since 1999 the Powerhouse has provided fun and entertainment to thousands of dance and music aficionados.

Over the years the Powerhouse and grown from a single bar and stage to a one-of-a-kind quilt of 5 bars and 3 different stage areas. All genres of live music are scheduled every day of the week, except Mondays, in addition to 2 DJ booths on the outside deck and Scarlets Specialty Bar. Approximately a thousand fans per week get their fill of great sounds, suds, spirits, and fun in the crazy sensory overloaded decor which provides an experience tough to forget.

Many of the staff have been at Powerhouse for 20 years which is run with love and professionalism by Nazaria Nguyen-owner. Her focus on friendliness and safety are key to the iconic status enjoyed by the venue in an industry often short lived. The Powerhouse concept believes nothing within its walls should remain static – the decor, the drinks, the state of art LED dance floor, the special effects, should all be as entertaining as its music…always adding new vibrancy to the Powerhouse experience.

The community is welcome to attend the Tuesday ribbon cutting and the venue is planning a larger celebration at a later date. Watch for an additional Folsom Times article on the 25 years of Powerhouse.
