Nine different students from throughout Folsom and El Dorado Hills were recently honored by the Charlotte Parkhurst Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) in Folsom.

Nominated by teachers from five schools near the conclusion of the school year, the honored students ranged from fifth grade to 11th and were presented with medals for their achievements. 

“DAR believes the education of youth about American citizenship is of the highest importance. The Youth Citizenship Medal was established for young adults who demonstrate the qualities of honor, service, courage, leadership and patriotism,” reads a statement from DAR.

Hogan Neilon, sixth grade, Golden Hills School, El Dorado Hills;

Ethan Callery, 11th grade, John Adams Academy, El Dorado Hills.
