Investigators with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department are continuing to investigate a shooting that took place in Orangevale Tuesday morning.

Shortly after 8 a.m. Tuesday, an adult male came to a local Orangevale fire station on Chestnut Avenue suffering from gunshot wounds. First responders tended to the victim and transported him to a nearby hospital.

The incident occurred near the 6500 block of Chestnut Avenue and the victim reportedly left the scene in a vehicle. After the victim arrived at the fire station, law enforcement responded to the area and conducted a search at a nearby apartment complex.  Deputies reportedly detained two individuals believed to be in connection with the shooting but had not announced any arrests as of Tuesday.

This is a current investigation and no additional details are being shared by law enforcement at this time. According to authorities and dispatch reports, the victim is in critical condition. The 29-year-old and was taken to Mercy San Juan Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.
