PLACERVILLE – One person has died after a law officer-involved shooting in Placerville on Wednesday.

The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies were serving a search warrant at a residence near the area of Baco Drive and Blairs Lane when someone came to the door with what appeared to be la firearm.

At that time deputies became involved in an officer-involved shooting, according to initial reports released by the sheriff’s office.

The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. No other subjects are believed to be in the areas, but deputies are still investigating the scene and urging residents to avoid the area as the investigation continues.

No deputies were reportedly injured incident and no additional details are being released as this remains an active investigation.
