One person was killed Tuesday night in a crash on Green Valley Road near the El Dorado/Sacramento County line.
According to reports by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), first responders were dispatched to the scene of Green Valley Road near Sophia Parkway just after midnight Tuesday after a 911 call reported a car off the roadway.
Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle that reportedly had major damage and was a distance off the roadway. The vehicle struck two fences during the crash, according to the CHP.
The solo male occupant of the vehicle was transported to Sutter Roseville Hospital with major injuries. He later passed away and has since been identified as Ahmad Noori, 23, resident of North Highlands. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation by the CHP. Investigators have not said if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash at this time.
