El DORADO COUNTY — A coordinated two-night law enforcement crackdown across El Dorado County led to 26 arrests, the recovery of 10 firearms, and the seizure of significant amounts of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine, officials announced this weekend.

The enforcement action, known as Operation Folsom Blues 3.0, took place September 18 and 19. The joint operation was spearheaded by the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office and Sheriff’s Office, with support from multiple local and state partners.

Over the course of the two nights, officers executed pre-planned search warrants, conducted targeted probation compliance checks, and carried out interdiction in areas identified as hot spots for drug activity. Authorities said the multi-agency teams were guided by real-time intelligence sharing, which allowed them to respond quickly and effectively.

According to preliminary results released by the agencies, the operation produced 26 arrests, the seizure of 10 firearms, and the confiscation of approximately 157 grams of methamphetamine, 11.5 grams of fentanyl, and 14.3 grams of cocaine. Law enforcement officials said the effort was aimed at disrupting narcotics distribution, recovering weapons tied to criminal activity, and reducing the risks of overdoses and violence in the community.

El Dorado County District Attorney Vern Pierson said the message of the operation was clear. “Folsom Blues 3.0 reminds drug dealers that if you plan to traffic illicit narcotics, you are not welcome in El Dorado County,” he said in a statement.

Sheriff Jeff Leikauf emphasized the risks facing drug traffickers in the region. “If you try to deal illegal narcotics in El Dorado County, you don’t know who you’re selling to—and you should always be looking over your shoulder,” he said.

Both agencies credited teamwork among law enforcement partners for the outcome. The South Lake Tahoe Police Department, Placerville Police Department, California Highway Patrol, and El Dorado County Probation all played critical roles in executing the crackdown. Officials said such collaborations remain essential in a county that stretches from the foothills to the Tahoe Basin, with crime challenges that vary by region but remain connected through the drug trade.

Operations under the “Folsom Blues” banner have become recurring joint efforts to address narcotics activity countywide. Law enforcement leaders said this third iteration reflects an ongoing commitment to aggressive enforcement and intelligence-driven policing.

While the final case filings and court proceedings are still pending, officials described the latest results as a clear success. They added that efforts to dismantle narcotics networks in El Dorado County will continue in the months ahead.
