After a collaborative investigation by the El Dorado County Sheriffs and Folsom Police Departments, over $1,000,000 in stolen merchandise from three area department stores has been recovered.

Two months ago, El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office Detectives began an investigation into a series of retail thefts from Target stores in El Dorado Hills and Placerville.

In the incidents, multiple suspects had entered the stores, stole large amounts of Apple products, and fled the scene. Detectives learned the Folsom Police Department also experienced similar thefts from the Folsom Target store and the suspects were possibly related to our thefts.

After a lengthy investigation from both agencies, multiple locations in the Sacramento area were identified as housing stolen property.

The stolen property was recovered by a collaboration of efforts from several law enforcement agencies, according to the report. Those agencies include the California Highway Patrol, the Sacramento Police Department, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department, and the Folsom Police Department.

The recovered stolen property value is totaled over $1,000,000.

“For those potential thieves who believe they can enter a place of business and simply take what is not theirs; this is not the case,” said the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department in a statement. “If you come here with the intent to victimize our community, and do so, we will follow through with total enforcement.”
