The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team reported Monday that they have seized more than 5,600 pounds of fireworks across two locations in both El Dorado Hills and Folsom, both which are reportedly tied to a Folsom resident, following a tip about illegal fireworks storage.

In late October, EOD Bomb Technicians were alerted to possible illegal possession and storage of fireworks at a public storage facility in El Dorado Hills. After obtaining a search warrant, deputies seized over 4,000 pounds of fireworks stored at the facility. The investigation revealed that the fireworks belonged to a Folsom resident who had transported them to El Dorado County for storage, the department reported.

The incident remains actively under investigation. Investigators have not released the name of the individual or details on charges at this time as the investigation remains active, they plan to provide further details once the investigation is complete.
