The Leadership Folsom Class of 2024 will host a charity pickleball tournament called Pickle For A Purpose on May 19 at Lifetime Fitness to benefit improvements at Cummings Family Park and Jake’s Journey Home, a local non-profit. The event will feature a team-based pickleball tournament as a way to connect companies that want to give back to the community of Folsom in a fun and active way, according to a press release detailing the plans from the 2024 Choose Folsom Leadership Class.
There will be food and plenty of fun as people mix with other community members, companies, and leaders in Folsom. Pickle For A Purpose will be hosted at Lifetime Fitness on Sunday, May 19th from 9am to 1pm and expects to raise $15,000 for the two beneficiaries.
“There are multiple sponsorship packages for this event that provide an opportunity to give back to the community while also providing your staff with a fun, active mixer with other businesses in Folsom,” said Caeli Holcombe, a member of the Leadership Folsom class and employee at Clutch. Generous support from the sponsoring local companies, will contribute towards the fundraising goal of $15,000. Sponsorship levels range from $500 up to $2,000 with pickleball inspired names like Kitchen Sponsor ($2,000), Paddle Sponsor ($1,500), Volley Sponsor ($1,000), and Dink Sponsor ($800). These levels of sponsorship all come with tournament entries for employees of the sponsoring companies as well as additional benefits.
“Sponsorships are filling fast, with multiple of the top-level sponsorships being filled already,” said Debbie Hurst a member of the Leadership Folsom class and CFO at Choose Folsom. Donations have already surpassed $9,000 from companies such as, Dignity Health (Kitchen), DVBE Connect and USI (Paddle), Broadridge and Clutch (Volley), and McKay & Somps (Dink). Companies or individuals who are interested in supporting the beneficiaries, but do not want to play pickleball can join in at the Supporting Sponsor level of $500. The funds raised will support two important efforts in Folsom. The 48 developed parks in the city of Folsom are a source of pride and joy for our residents, serving more than 1.4 million participants of the community each year. The Leadership Folsom Class of 2024 has chosen to help refurbish the Cummings Family Park picnic table pavilion area. Additionally, Jake’s Journey Home is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, community-based volunteer organization assisting unhoused veterans and community members in a lifepath change through wrap-around support services. Funds raised through the Pickle For A Purpose event will help this local non-profit make a bigger impact in Folsom.
