It’s important for our residents and business owners to be aware that the discussion on our growing homeless and transient populations has been placed on Councils agenda for this coming Tuesday, Oct 10 at 6:30.

We will hear from our administration, Police, Fire and some local non- profits and County services.

While all this is very important, the truth is I made the suggestion to place this on the agenda because I became concerned when leaders in our community were stating that Folsom did not have a homeless problem. That is not what I have seen and especially heard by so many of you.

Whether it’s a positive comment, concern or a critique, it’s important for us all to understand your reality and how your experiences are affecting your quality of life and/or your businesses ability to thrive. This is also a great time to share suggestions and or possible solutions you might have to improve Folsoms action plan on this growing issue.

Since I decided to run for this council seat over a year ago this conversation has never wavered around the truth that people love living in Folsom and want their safety and the safety of their families to come first. They also have huge hearts and want to be sure that those who want help – are connected to the services that the county provides to help them.

I encourage you to attend our meeting or send in an email to our city to be read at the meeting and delivered to council.

I know that together we can face any challenge head-on and find solutions to better our quality of life  and our amazing city.
