Public workshop scheduled Feb. 23 to gather community input on Neighborhood Park No. 1
FOLSOM — Folsom residents are being invited to take part in shaping one of the city’s newest public spaces as planning continues for Neighborhood Park No. 1 in the Folsom Plan Area.
Folsom Parks & Recreation is encouraging community members to attend an upcoming in-person workshop on Monday, Feb. 23, beginning at 5:30 p.m., to learn more about the project and provide input on the park’s future design. The workshop will take place in the multipurpose room at Alder Creek Elementary School, located at 4545 Old Ranch Way.
Neighborhood Park No. 1 is planned for 3294 Empire Ranch Road and represents a key component of the city’s long-term vision for parks and recreational spaces within the growing Folsom Plan Area. City officials say early community involvement is critical to ensuring the park reflects the needs, priorities and interests of the surrounding neighborhoods.
During the workshop, residents will have the opportunity to engage directly with city staff, review early planning concepts and share feedback that will help guide the park’s layout, features and amenities. Parks and Recreation staff are expected to discuss the overall planning process, anticipated timelines and how public input will factor into the final design.
City officials emphasize that community participation at this stage allows for meaningful collaboration and helps create a park that serves a wide range of users, from families and children to those seeking outdoor recreation and open space.
Residents who are unable to attend the workshop or who would like additional information about Neighborhood Park No. 1 may contact park planning staff atparkplanning@folsom.ca.us. Additional updates and details on city park projects can also be found atwww.folsom.ca.us/ParksAndRecProjects.
