Zionarrow A. Taylor, 22, was reported missing after a routine count at 2:30 a.m. Staff immediately launched a search. CDCR’s Office of Correctional Safety and local law enforcement agencies have been notified and are assisting in the search.
Taylor is 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair. He was received from Fresno County on Oct. 3, 2023. He was sentenced to two years for second-degree robbery.
Anyone who sees Taylor or has knowledge of his whereabouts should contact law enforcement or call 9-1-1. Many residents in Folsom received a “Shelter in Place” phone message shortly after 6 a.m. Friday morning advising them of the escaped inmate that could be in the area.
Later in the morning, Folsom Police issued a following notice on social media for residents to disregard the direction to shelter in place.
“We know some individuals received a “Shelter in Place” message this morning, but there is no need to shelter in place. Just please call 9-1-1 should you see this individual,” State Folsom Police. “We are sorry for the inconvenience of the “Shelter in Place” message and appreciate your assistance.”
Update 8:00 a.m.: Parents of students at Folsom Middle School Folsom Hills School received alerts advising they “may keep their students home,” due to the heavy police activity in the area and if they chose to take them to school that they would be operating under a “Shelter in Place.”
Folsom Times confirmed that those schools will remain open with Angela Griffen, Chief Communications & Community Engagement Officer for the Folsom Cordova Unified School District. Griffen said that parents were being notified with an update that school would be in session.
“FCUSD is aware of police activity in the community and is working collaboratively with the Folsom Police Department. They are encouraging families to send their children to school, “Griffen said in a statement to parents. “Students and staff are encouraged to go to school. Should there be a need for a school to go into a lockdown or shelter in place, your principal will notify you.”
