California Forward, a diverse and dynamic slate of candidates, several of whom are Folsom residents, proudly announces its campaign to represent Assembly District 7 (AD7) as delegates in the California State Democratic Party. The slate is composed of experienced community leaders, legal experts, environmental advocates, small business owners, and current members of the Folsom Cordova Unified School District (FCUSD) school board. With decades of combined leadership experience, California Forward is committed to building a stronger, fairer California through pragmatic, values-driven policymaking.
The California Forward slate is proud to include Brian Sittner, Danielle Sivalingam, Julian Sarafian, Rehana S. Rehman, Justin Hurst, Hla Elkhatib, David Sanders, Kara Lofthouse, Chris Clark, Janice O’Malley Gallizio, Matt Depa, Kristina Bas Hamilton, Jag Nagendra, and Rochelle “Shelly” Amrhein.
The members of California Forward bring an impressive range of expertise and professional backgrounds to their candidacies. The slate includes small business owners working to foster local economic growth, environmental scientists advocating for sustainable policies, healthcare advocates championing equitable access to care, and labor organizers fighting for workers’ rights. Other members bring decades of experience in state budgeting and legislative advocacy, ensuring transparency and fiscal responsibility in government. Collectively, the slate represents a cross-section of AD7’s communities, united by their shared commitment to advancing common-sense solutions and creating opportunities for all Californians.
The election for AD7 delegates will be held in late February and is open to registered Democrats residing in the district. As delegates, California Forward members will advocate for practical policies that reflect the values and priorities of the district. These include addressing homelessness through smarter resource allocation, improving public education access and quality, streamlining housing development to tackle the affordability crisis, and reducing barriers for small businesses to thrive.
California Forward is also committed to protecting fundamental rights for all Californians, including reproductive freedom, LGBTQI rights, and access to healthcare and housing. The slate is equally focused on advancing climate action by promoting sustainable energy policies and safeguarding the state’s natural resources for future generations.
