Plan your commutes and those errand running routes accordingly Folsom residents, lane closures are set to begin along Folsom Boulevard for a four-month long pipeline construction project that is expected to affect traffic through November.

The construction project will cover a one mile stretch of Folsom Boulevard from Blue Ravine Road to Bidwell Street. Construction work will cause significant traffic delays, as lane reductions will limit traffic to two lanes for the duration of the project, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Construction will be implemented in phases, and traffic restrictions are expected to change throughout each stage of the construction project. Motorists are advised to expect traffic congestion and are encouraged to seek alternate routes whenever possible. The city has installed message signs to alert motorists about closures and detours.

The first phase of the project will consist of night work located at the intersection of Folsom Boulevard at Blue Ravine and is scheduled from July 30 through August 6 and will impact traffic between the hours of 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.

The City of Folsom is committed to delivering exceptional and dependable services to its valued water and sewer customers. As part of the City of Folsom Capital Improvement Program, the Environmental & Water Resources Department performs ongoing condition assessments on the water and wastewater system and has identified this pipeline project as necessary to maintain the integrity and reliability of the water and wastewater system. The lane closures are necessary to facilitate essential work on the pipeline project to enhance the safety, reliability, and resiliency of the city’s infrastructure.
