This week’s Folsom Times Shelter Pet Spotlight, presented by Symmetry for Health of Folsom, features a handsome Siberian Husky and German Shepherd mix named Braxton. He’s searching for a patient adopter who can help him build confidence and settle into his forever home. Braxton is currently residing at Sacramento County Animal Services’ Bradshaw Shelter.

Braxton is a male, black and white Siberian Husky and German Shepherd mix, estimated to be about 1 year and 7 months old. Weighing approximately 64 pounds, he has been at the shelter since Jan. 25, 2025. Braxton is a bit unsure in the shelter environment and will thrive with a patient and understanding adopter who can help him feel safe and loved.

Braxton recently met some social dogs at the shelter and did well, though he seemed a little uncomfortable around them. With more experience in the shelter’s playgroups, we’re hopeful he’ll start to show his playful, silly side. If you’re searching for a buddy for your dog, bring them to the shelter for a meet-and-greet to see if they’re a match!

If you’d like to meet Braxton in person, visit Sacramento County Animal Care Services at 3839 Bradshaw Road, Sacramento. The shelter is open for adoptions Tuesday through Sunday from noon to 5 p.m., with extended hours until 6 p.m. on Wednesdays. Adoptions are first-come, first-served, so don’t forget to bring a valid ID and plan your visit soon.

By adopting Braxton—or one of his shelter friends—you’ll not only gain a loving companion but also help create space for another pet in need. Braxton might just be the perfect addition to your family.
