This week’s Folsom Times Shelter Pet Spotlight, presented by Symmetry for Health of Folsom, features an energetic and affectionate Pit Bull Terrier named Kiyojin. Currently residing at Sacramento County Animal Care Services, Kiyojin is a neutered male with a tan and white coat. Shelter staff estimate he is about 2 years and 3 months old, weighing in at approximately 71.6 pounds.
Kiyojin has been at the shelter since Oct. 2, and his adoption fee is waived. This friendly pup recently enjoyed a field trip, where he impressed his human companion with his well-behaved nature, car-riding skills, and calm demeanor at a local dog-friendly eatery.
Described as vibrant and playful, Kiyojin loves basking in the sun, rolling in the grass, and showcasing tricks like “sit” and “shake.” He is also potty-trained and enjoys outdoor adventures, making him an excellent jogging partner or companion for an active family. After a day of fun, he’s happy to cuddle and shower you with affection.
Kiyojin has participated in shelter playgroups and may thrive with a compatible canine friend in his new home. If you already have a dog, bring them along to the shelter for a meet-and-greet to see if it’s a match.
To meet Kiyojin in person, visit Sacramento County Animal Care Services at 3839 Bradshaw Road, Sacramento. The shelter is open for adoptions Tuesday through Sunday from noon to 5 p.m., with extended hours until 6 p.m. on Wednesdays. Adoptions are first-come, first-served, so bring a valid ID and plan your visit soon.
By adopting Kiyojin—or one of his shelter friends—you’ll not only gain a loyal companion but also help free up space for another animal in need.
