This week’s Folsom Times Shelter Pet Spotlight, presented by Symmetry for Health of Folsom, features a big boy currently known as Johnny Cash at Sacramento County Animal Services.
Johnny Cash is a neutered male, black and white Alaskan Malamute mix. Shelter staff believe he is about 6 years old, and he weighs approximately 76 pounds. Johnny has been at the shelter since July 20, and his adoption fee is waived in an effort to find him the perfect family and home.
According to shelter staff, Johnny is a big boy, but the definition of a gentle giant. He is reportedly easy to walk on a leash and takes treats with a soft mouth, like the gentleman he is. He loves leaning in for affection and soaking up all the attention you’ll give him. Recently, Johnny went on a “Barks and Rec” field trip and earned rave reviews for his manners and sweet, gentle demeanor. We can’t believe he hasn’t been adopted yet—hurry in to meet Johnny before he finds his forever home!
To meet Johnny in person, visit Sacramento County Animal Care Services at 3839 Bradshaw Road, Sacramento. The shelter is open for adoptions Tuesday through Sunday from noon to 5 p.m., with extended hours until 6 p.m. on Wednesdays. Adoptions are first-come, first-served, so be sure to bring a valid ID and plan your visit soon.
By adopting Johnny—or one of his shelter friends—you not only bring joy and love into your home but also help open up space for another pet in need. Johnny might just be the perfect addition to your family.
