This week’s Folsom Times-sponsored Shelter Pet Spotlight shines on Mila, a sweet-natured terrier mix currently residing at the Sacramento SPCA. The ongoing Shelter Pet Spotlight, made possible through the support of the Folsom Times and its community partners, aims to help shelter pets like Mila find the loving, forever homes they deserve.

Mila, a Belgian Malinois and Jack Russell Terrier mix, is a 7-month-old, medium-sized puppy with a striking black and brown coat. Weighing in at 33 pounds (and still growing!), Mila is eager to meet her future family. Although she is still learning the ropes of socialization, Mila’s gentle personality shines through. She thrives in calm, patient environments and will benefit from a home where she can take her time adjusting to new experiences.

A few things to note about Mila: She has lived with dogs in the past and may do well with yours, provided they are introduced slowly. However, Mila is a little too curious about cats, so a cat-free home is essential. While she doesn’t have a history with children, older, dog-savvy kids or teens may be a great fit for this energetic pup.

Mila has been waiting for her perfect match since arriving at the Sacramento SPCA on August 5, 2024. Her adoption fee has already been sponsored by a caring supporter, making it even easier for her to find a loving home.

For those interested in giving Mila her forever home or learning more about other adoptable pets, the Sacramento SPCA welcomes visitors to meet their available animals. The shelter, located at 6201 Florin Perkins Road, is open from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. More details about available pets can be found at www.sspca.org.

Adopting from local shelters like the Sacramento SPCA or Bradshaw Animal Shelter not only brings joy and companionship into your life but also frees up space for other animals in need. Potential adopters are encouraged to research breed characteristics, exercise requirements, and health concerns to ensure they find a pet that fits their lifestyle. The Sacramento SPCA’s adoption team is always on hand to guide families through this process, helping them find a perfect match.
