Annual Folsom camp is an action packed, faith building experience for kids

For one week every summer, giant inflatable slides cover nearly the entire field of Lakeside Church—at the corner of Oak Avenue Parkway and East Bidwell—and are an unmistakable sign of Lakeside’s annual and legendary Summer Blitz camp for kids. Blitz has been a memorable part of summer for Folsom children since 2005, and the church is gearing up for another unforgettable camp this year, June 5–8.

“Lakeside’s Summer Blitz is an action-packed, faith-building experience for every child who participates. Families looking for spiritual input for their kids will find it in Blitz, along with tons of fun, energy, adventure, and friendship,” said Lakeside’s Pastor Brad Franklin.

Campers will enjoy entertaining skits, high-energy singing and dancing, hands-on art and science, and wet-‘n-wild outdoor recreation and inflatables. This year’s camp theme, “Go Beyond,” will revolve around a space theme.

“This year we’ll be blasting off on a space mission to Mars! All week kids will experience God’s love for them, while discovering what happens when we put our faith in Jesus and have his power at work in us all!” said Jen Jarvis, Lakeside’s children’s ministry pastor. “The incredible investment from our volunteer team is what makes Summer Blitz the unique and amazing camp that it is. We have over 800 trained volunteers working together to keep kids safe, lead and love kids, and help every single child get the most out of this incredible and memorable week.”

Summer Blitz is available for incoming TK–fifth graders and provides options for either morning or evening sessions (9am–12:45pm or 5–8pm, June 5–8). Snacks will be offered at both sessions, with a heartier snack available for the evening session.

Standard registration pricing ends May 7, with May 21 being the last day to sign up. Register at lakesidechurch.com/blitz. Send any questions to kids@lakesidechurch.com. Camp will take place on the Lakeside Church campus, 745 Oak Avenue Parkway, Folsom.
