SMUD and the Aerospace Museum of California will welcome members of the community on Saturday for a family fun-filled day of interactive activities centered on wind energy and the power of flight.

Guests of all ages can tour the Aerospace Museum of California, enjoy airplane exhibits, fly a flight simulator, and explore the 2THEXTREME! MathAlive! Exhibit. Summer STEM Fest includes music, food and free parking. Admission for the event is also free.

SMUD’s Community Education & Technology Center provides instruction and education on a wide variety of energy-related topics, including renewable energy, STEAM curriculum development, home energy efficiency, and advanced energy concepts. STEM education areas engage students in concepts and technologies that are central to SMUD’s 2030 Zero Carbon Plan, which will remove carbon emissions from the region’s power supply by 2030.

Summer STEM Fest takes place rom 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. o Saturday. The Aerospace Museum of California is located at 3200 Freedom Park Drive in McClellan Park, zip code for those using GPS to get there is 95652. 

SMUD also hosts several community events throughout the year, including the Solar Regatta, Solar Car Races, Earth Day Art Competition, Youth Energy Summit and an Electricity Fair in Folsom.
