Folsom Police have announced the arrest of a suspect connected to a recent string of vehicle burglaries in the city, thanks to swift investigative work by the department’s Problem Oriented Policing (POP) Unit and cooperation from local businesses.

The incident began in the early morning hours of April 11, 2025, when officers responded to two separate reports of vehicle burglaries in Folsom. At the time of the initial reports, there was no known information regarding the suspect or their vehicle.

The case took a significant turn when one of the victims noticed their stolen credit cards were being used at multiple businesses throughout Sacramento County. Detectives with the POP Unit quickly took over the case, working closely with area businesses to collect and review surveillance footage.

Their efforts led to the identification of both a suspect and the vehicle involved. Officers were able to track the suspect’s vehicle to the 12100 block of Tributary Lane in Gold River. Surveillance was established, and officers moved in safely to arrest 37-year-old Darius Huerta without incident.

During the arrest, police recovered multiple items of stolen property at the scene. Huerta was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on several charges, including burglary, identity theft, fraudulent use of access cards, and violation of post-release community supervision, according to the report.

“We urge residents to always lock their vehicles and remove all valuables, especially overnight. Staying vigilant is one of the best ways to prevent theft,” the department said.
