EL DORADO HILLS- Fire safety education reached classrooms across the community recently as the El Dorado Hills Fire Department wrapped up its Fire Prevention Month activities by celebrating the winners of its “Charge into Fire Safety” poster contest.
More than 1,600 posters were submitted by students districtwide, reflecting strong participation in this year’s theme focused on lithium-ion battery safety.
Ruby Peppers from William Brooks Elementary, Isaac Chan from Golden Hills School, and Kaiden Funk from Lakeview Elementary were selected as the three district-wide winners.
Each student visited their local fire station, where firefighters helped them place their winning posters directly onto the engine before guiding them on a tour with the crew.
The department said the opportunity to welcome students into the firehouse and showcase their artwork was a highlight of Fire Prevention Month. “Thank you to all of the students who participated in our assemblies and this year’s ‘Charge into Fire Safety’ poster contest,” the department shared in a statement. “We enjoyed sharing the importance of lithium-ion battery safety in your home, and we hope everyone keeps an eye out for the winning posters as they drive through the community.”

Residents may spot the posters on engines traveling through El Dorado Hills in the coming weeks, offering a rolling reminder of the safety lessons taught throughout the past few months.
